No 'Poo, part two

For the beginning of my No 'Poo journey, look here.

If you remember, I posted that I was going to try the baking soda paste on dry hair, out of the shower. I'd heard other mention mention that it was easier, especially with think, long, unruly hair- like mine.

That did not go well. I tried it for the first time, last evening. Apart from saving water, all it did was make a mess, take longer, and frustrate me. Plus, I don't feel that I was able to get the paste into my hair, like I was able to before.

I've come up with a new solution to this.

I'm still going to get in the shower, get my hair wet, and turn off the water. The proceed with the paste. Once I'm done. I'll turn it back on. Any mess that the paste causing by flaking off, will be washed down the drain. Rather than have to be cleaned up by me later.

I am starting to go through the greasy period. I only wash my hair every other day, and don't even get it wet on the in between days, so that would probably be solved by using the paste/lemon juice every day. But, the goal is to eventually not have to wash it at all, even with this solution. My husband doesn't even notice. So I can pull it back for a few days, while it's adjusting.

I've also started "plunking" my hair, using one of my husband's old T-shirts. It has helped tremendously with keeping my natural curl in. Another tip, is taking a wide tooth comb into the shower. I feel like I'm able to get the lemon juice into my hair better than pouring it on.

So, I'm about a full week into No 'Poo. It's super easy, my hair doesn't look, or even feel gross. I'm going to keep going!

How about you? Anyone want to join me on my journey?

You have me thinking about trying it! My hair gets greasy really fast just a few hours out of the shower and its bad I just pull it up so maybe this would be something that would work for me.
