I've been sewing since I was nine years old. My grandfather taught me how to sew. He and my grandmother sewed dresses for my uncle's business. The UPS man would drop off the pieces in a box, and they would sew them together and mail them back. My mom and I made my prom and wedding dresses by piecing together different patterns and my wedding dress especially was unlike anyone else's getting married at the time. I've always enjoyed thinking up my own way of doing things. Sometimes it has worked out better than others. The pair of pants I made at 9 didn't work as well as the travel changing pad I designed last year or the diaper bag I've designed this fall. My baby carriers have changed a great deal since I first started making them. Hopefully the continue to get better. But mostly I love shopping for fabric and trying new fabric combinations and colors. I see a fabric in the store and can't wait to get home to put something together. -Jenn

Carriers by Jenn was kind enough to send me one of her original Mei Tais. I was really impressed with how quickly it shipped, along with the detailed instructions that she illustrated herself! This was the first mei tai that I had tried, and was able to get it on and the Lovebug in it easily.
The day that the mei tai from Carriers by Jenn arrived, we were planning on going to a party for a friend. I tucked the mei tai in my bag, and off we went. While we were at the party, I used the mei tai the entire time.

It was so easy and comfortable to wear her, even 4-5 hours later! Not only could I wear her on my front and hip, but I could adjust her so that I could nurse her as well! Plus, the fabric from the carrier helped cover me up a little so I wasn't baring it all! There is even a little pocket on the front of the carrier to stash your keys or cellphone!

I've actually gotten a lot more use out of the carrier than my others the past few months. My Lovebug is creeping towards the 20 pound mark, so a pouch or ring sling is only good for short in and out trips. My wraps and the mei tai from Carriers by Jenn have been getting me along as they evenly distribute her weight across me! I honestly don't have one bad thing to say about this carrier!
