"As a parent, we all know how difficult for us the transition from birth to 6 months can be... sleepless nights, confusion, not knowing, feeling overwhelmed, trouble feeding, Colic, and of course, the wonderful hormonal shifts we face! Most of us know about the comfort and many different benefits that are achieved from swaddling newborns, which has been done for hundreds of years. The Woombie was created after my third daughter was born. I was feeling such frustration with all of the swaddling blankets and contraptions that I bought to help with the new baby. Even as a seasoned parent, there are still new issues, as every baby is so unique. Our situation was not only with comfort...but with safety. After finding Bella with a name-brand swaddling blanket unraveled and over her face, i knew there had to be a better and safer way to swaddle."Karen, the creator, was nice enough to send me a Woombie, in the big baby size, to try out on my Lovebug. Our previous method of swaddling really wasn't made for a 7 month old, but the need was still there. I was super excited to see that Woombie offers swaddling sack options up to 25 pounds/35 inches.
Not only does the Woombie come in five different sizes (preemie,
newborn short, newborn, big baby, and mega baby), but they come in four different types as well (The USA made Woombie, The Original Woombie, The Deluxe Woombie, and The Lil' Houdini Woombie). Plus you can order the Woombie in lots of great colors and prints.Unfortunately, our experience with the Woombie was less than stellar at first. Unlike other Swaddling blankets where the arms are secured, the Woombie just zips up the front. So it's hard to get a wiggly baby in the Woombie and zipped all at the same time. It really took using it a few times to figure out how to keep her in there and zipped, without asking for help. I don't see that being an issue for a younger baby though.
The Lovebug is a little heater, so the Deluxe Woombie was a little hot for her in the summer. Every so often, Lovebug still needs swaddled to sleep well, so now that it's cooler, I tried the Woombie again. So far, it's been great. She isn't overheated at all. For the summer, I would definitely recommend getting a lighter fabric style. For spring, fall, and winter though, the Deluxe is great with a onesie and leggings on underneath.

Woombie also offers many other products! Like The Sleep Donut, used as a travel rest and nap mat. I think this is such a great idea, and it looks so soft! This would be great to keep at my parents house, if they babysit!
