Snappi Review and Giveaway! Closed!

"The Snappi® fastener was invented by a father, Hennie Visser, in South Africa over 25 years ago. Hennie was actively involved in raising his daughter, which included his fair share of cloth diaper changes. Hennie commented: “I simply became frustrated whenever I had to change my baby’s diaper because I most often ended up pricking my finger with the diaper pin, and left with a diaper that didn’t fit securely!” He knew there had to be a better, safer and easier way to fasten diapers instead of using the old fashioned pin method. This was when he thought of a diaper fastener with rubber bands and tin grips, which marked the birth of the Snappi® fastener."

When I first started cloth diapering, we went the cheapest route. Prefolds with covers. I had heard about Snappi's, but I really wasn't sure what they did. Plus, a pack of pins, compared to a Snappi, was much cheaper. I went a head and ordered a Snappi anyway, but didn't use it at all for a few months.

We exclusively used pins on the prefolds for a couple months, until my daughter thought that diaper changes were a game, and was wiggling all around. I was terrified that I was going to stick her with the pin, and had already stuck myself a few times. I remembered that I had purchased a Snappi, and out of desperation, grabbed it during a diaper change, rather than pins.

It took two or three adjustments to get the Snappi on correctly, but it was so easy to put on and take back off. Within seconds, my daughter's prefold was on her more securely than it had ever been. I hadn't pricked my finger, or my child!

Since that moment, we never used pins again. I've ordered a few more and Snappi was even kind enough to see me a lovely lavender Snappi for the Lovebug! If my daughter has a prefold on, she has a Snappi on, too! The only downside, is that the Snappi does wear out in about 6 or so months, and they recommend replacing it at that time.

Did you know Snappi even makes a toddler size? Even if you have a chunky baby, you'll still be able to Snappi the prefolds or fitted diapers!

Snappi has very generously offered to give FIVE Moma Lovebug readers their very own Snappi!
