"Like many mom started companies Dittany Baby started with a need; two needs to be exact. When Shannon's first son began to crawl he would drag one of his legs and within just a few days he had scraps and rug burn from his tiny toes to his knee. She knew she needed something to protect his legs but it was also July and desperately hot outside so making him wear jeans or thick pants just wasn't an option. Shannon took to her sewing machine to create the first pair of skidpants. They worked perfectly! Not only were they protective but skidpants made changing diapers a whole lot easier! So where did the name Dittany Baby come from? Dittany of Crete is a flower and herb that can be found on the island of Crete. It can be found in literature dating as far back as "Homar and the Illiad". It was discovered by shepherds who followed sheep, that had been wounded by arrows during battle, climb the mountain and eat this flower. The sheep that did so lived. Throughout history it has been used both internally and externally as a healing agent and was most widely used to ease the pains of childbirth.
Today, Dittany Baby is a group of WAHM's and a dad who work each day to keep the products you love made in the highest quality fabrics and standards. We also believe in keeping our products made in the USA supporting the American Family in every way possible."
Last Spring is the first time
I heard about Dittany Baby. I was on twitter, and had seen another friend reference them. Not sure what Dittany Baby was, I looked and followed the twitter link to their site.I was instantly in love after looking at their products. Mei Tais, Skidpants, Tights, Pouch Slings and much more! I had even heard talk of a water sling on twitter. Luckily, I was able to sign up as a tester for what is now the H2O Sling. I loved it, and still use it both in and out of the water!
The Dittany Baby Mei Tai was a great addition to my babywearing collection. I received the Unity Organic print, and even took it along with me to Blissdom(they were my sponsor) this past weekend! I had so many compliments on it, and other attendees wanted to know where I got it! I was also able to take a second Mei Tai and a Pouch Sling to try out and then giveaway to another Mama in need!
Having a baby attached to you for four days straight is hard. It's even harder when you are pretty much alone, with no help. The Dittany Baby Mei Tai truly is what helped me get through last weekend. I was able to get my daughter to nap in it, nurse in it, calm her down in it. It's like a Mama's helper!Dittany Baby has generously offered to give Moma Lovebug readers a discount! Just use code "momalovebug35" when checking out for a 35% discount on Mei Tais!
