Gerber Yogurt Blends Review!

"As a parent, you want to do the very best for your little one. And one of the best things you can do is guide him on the road to good nutrition and healthy development. But how do you know you’re making the right decisions? For moms throughout the United States, the answer is the Start Healthy, Stay Healthy™ Nutrition System—a trusted resource you can rely on to help you choose what’s best for your child’s nutrition."

Awhile back, Gerber contacted me to see if I would review their Yogurt Blends product. I almost said no, only because Gerber is now a Nestle owned company. However, because they were just acquired in 2007 and they are a name I was familiar with growing up, I said yes!

Lovebug is a big fan of yogurt. And I mean a big fan. She'll eat a child size yogurt cup in one sitting and would probably eat yogurt for every meal if I let her. So when she tried the Peach Yogurt Blends from Gerber, it was no surprise that she loved it. They have more than just Peach though. Check out these other yummy favors!
  • Simply Strawberry
  • Simply Banana
  • Simply Peach
  • Simply Pear
Don't go looking for these in the refrigerated section at your market though. Yogurt Blends are with the baby food! It was nice to know that this is something that could be purchased and taken on a trip, and I wouldn't have to worry about keeping it cold.

While this might not be something I purchase for Lovebug regularly, I will definitely keep it in mind for any traveling we might need to do as Gerber Yogurt Blends are such a great snack option! In addition to Gerber's website. You can also find them on YouTube!

*I received the yogurt blends free of charge in exchange for this review. The opinions expressed are my own*

Moms Crafts 4 U Review and Giveaway! Closed!

"Moms Crafts 4 U was created specifically with Moms in mind. As a mom myself and have tried and tested my products, so I am sure you will be pleased with your purchase. Every item you will see here is beautifully handcrafted by Moms Crafts 4 U. I take pride in knowing that each and every item is the best workmanship and the quality that you deserve."

As I've mentioned, I have been making the switch to cloth pads for myself. As most of you know, I went through a rough ten weeks with bleeding. Moms Crafts 4 U was kind enough to send me two of their cloth pads to try out.

The cloth pads are multiple layers of Fleece, Flannel and Cotton with tons of cute prints. Periods suck enough as it is, why not have some fun pads to make it a little better? The wings have a snap on them, so they stay in place pretty well, too. And with a set of 5 only running you about $16, they are super affordable!

Overall, I was pretty happy with the cloth pads from Moms Crafts 4 U. They had a pretty good absorbency, washed well without keeping stains, and really held up to weeks of use that I put them through. The only thing I wasn't too happy with was the width on the pad. It made for a great pantyliner or even as a back up from wearing a cup, but I don't think I would trust using it alone on heavier days.

Moms Crafts 4 U carries a lot of other neat products, too! Not just Cloth Pads! Check out these completely awesome Fleece Socks. It has been a little chillier here lately, especially with all the rain. My feet have been the coldest. I would love to slip on these warm looking socks to wear around the house! Check out Moms Crafts 4 U for other items like Check Book Covers, DS Cases, Fleece Socks, Wallets/Purses/Totes, and Wipes / Cloth Tissues!

Moms Crafts 4 U has generously offered to give one Moma Lovebug reader a starter set of three cloth pads!

Sweets N Stuff Review and Giveaway! Closed!

I love hair accessories. Love them. But, It's so hard to find cute adult hair accessories that are my style and that look nice with different outfits. Sweets N Stuff has a ton of cute things that I absolutely love.

I had actually been following Sweets N Stuff on Twitter for awhile, and had been loving the items in her shop. So when she asked if I would review it, I jumped at the chance!

The owner is the sweetest lady you'll ever meet and was nice enough to send me a couple headbands and flower pins! Pulling them out of the package, I wouldn't wait to wear them. I even put the adorable sparkly headband on right away!

I have to admit, I feel sexier with a little flower in my hair. Even the husband apparently thinks so too. Which, we all know is awesome that he (a man!!!) actually noticed, hehe.

The hair accessories are really well made. I have been wearing them for a few weeks now. And having an almost 15 month old that loves getting into things, I need something that can hold up to her grabbing my hair (and things in my hair). I'm happy to report that Sweets N Stuff hair accessories can take her beating!

Sweets N Stuff isn't just hair accessories. They also have some pretty rockin' jewelery! I am in love with this gorgeous bracelet! I actually have to admit that I'm in love with ALL of the Sweets N Stuff jewelery. It's so hard to pick just one piece!

It's all very affordable too, especially considering the quality of each piece! From gorgeous hair accessories, to got to have it jewelery, all the way to fans and boas, Sweets N Stuff has it all! There is sure to be something to make you happy.

Sweets N Stuff has generously offered to give one Moma Lovebug reader a $25 gift card to their shop!

CP Creations Review!

At the end of January, I found out that in less than a week, I would be attending Blissdom. I was happy but a little nervous about how to keep Lovebug occupied on the plane and while I was in sessions.
Corrie, who you know from Toddler Momma is the creator and owner of CP Creations, a wonderful shop on Etsy! She stepped up to the plate and gave me a Crayon Roll (complete with crayons!) to take along for the trip! Since we are lucky enough to live in the same area, she even hand delivered it! Talk about a good friend :)

Not long before Blissdom, we had introduced Lovebug to crayons and she was in love! The thin box however, was quickly ruined by her little hands, leaving the crayons boxless and all over our house. We don't really keep plastic baggies in the house, so that wasn't an option.

The Crayon Rolls from CP Creations make an excellent home for all of your homeless crayons. Rather than a thin cheap box, this is made from sturdy fabric! It even rolls up and secures so there are no messes. Which, trust me, is a great thing when your toddler just wants to "throw" the Crayon Roll around. Best part? It has held up to all of her craziness with it!

Lovebug is still pretty young, so she doesn't quite get the idea behind the Crayon Roll yet. But Mommy loves it! it's cute, functional, and Lovebug's crayons are safe and secure. Pretty great if you ask me!

Not only will you find gorgeous Crayon Rolls at CP Creations, but also some pretty awesome looking Business Card Wallets and Zip Pouches. I've had my eye on the Business Card Wallet above since she listed it! I do believe once we have all of our stuff paid off, I'll be visiting her shop to make a few purchases!

You can find Corrie and CP Creations on Twitter, her Blog, and Etsy Shop!

Treble Baby Review and Giveaway! Closed!

"My venture into sewing baby supplies began when we were expecting our first born. As we began to prepare for our son, my husband and I decided, that we wanted to use cloth diapers. One reason, was to help prevent the landfill from filling up with non-biodegradable products like disposable diapers. We believe that we are responsible for caring for the earth and passing it down to our children, as a result, using disposable diapers instead of cloth diapers just didn't make any sense. In addition, to helping the environment, using cloth diapers will save us at least $2000 and that much more for every child we have in the future. All of this led to my research on cloth diapering supplies, which I then began to make.
The name Treble Baby stems from my love of music. If it weren't for my son, I would probably still be teaching music full time. I
love music, especially singing. (I'm a soprano.) So, my love for music and love for my son, and the creations he has inspired, has led to Treble Baby."

Cloth diapering has really changed the way we do things around here. We've become eco-friendly in a lot of other ways since making the switch to cloth! Unfortunately, when it came to storing dirty diapers, we were still using plastic bags in a trash can. And we did this for nearly a year. I had heard a lot of good and bad about other companies that made pail liners, and I was afraid to try something and it not work. Even though we were using plastic bags, I was worried about the quality of another liner.

Then Treble Baby came along. The owner was kind enough to send me a Pail Liner to try out. Before I put it in the pail, I inspected it to make sure it would fit and I wanted to make sure it could hold up through many many washings. Who wants a leaky Pail Liner, right?

Well, it's held up through very rigorous washings. We just had a battle with yeast, and everything diaper related was washed, and washed, and then washed some more. The Pail Liner from TrebleBaby held up like a champ!

I know some people prefer an elastic top on the Pail Liner over one with without. And while I think they are both okay, I like that it helps to keep the liner in the pail, no slipping and having to reach down in a stinky mess to adjust it.

The only downside is that sometimes dumping the diapers out into the washer can be a little challenging. The opening of the Treble Baby Pail Liner is still a pretty generous size though, so I don't run into this problem often at all!

Treble Baby isn't just your one stop shop for cloth diapering supplies, they also have a lot of other great items! I am loving the Snuggly Infant carrier listed!

Treble Baby has generously offered to give one Moma Lovebug reader an adorable Fleece Baby Blanket!!

ImagiPlay Review and Giveaway! Closed!

"For over a decade, ImagiPLAY has created high-quality educational toys that inspire children's imaginations and the desire to explore. With the abundance of toys available for children today, ImagiPLAY sets itself apart from the rest through its motto: "Toys with Integrity." By producing quality products that connect with nature, have eco-friendly sources, and hold educational value, ImagiPLAY works to benefit the earth we share and the people that inhabit it."

ImagiPlay was kind enough to send me the Palm Bead Maze you see pictured here. Lovebug has been all kinds of interested in the big ones like what you'd see at the doctor's office. Except, we don't typically allow her to play with them. All I can think of is the germs crawling around on it.

She loves it though, so I had been looking into getting her a bead maze of her own. Then ImagiPlay came along! I have to say, I expected the Palm Bead Maze to be larger than it was. It's around 5.5 inches tall, but the picture made it seem bigger.

I didn't realize until I went to run an errand that this is actually the perfect size for travel! I could throw it in the diaper bag with no problems at all. Lovebug could hold and play with it in the carseat, baby carrier, etc and it wasn't too large for her to maneuver.

The Palm Bead Maze from ImagiPlay has held up wonderfully, too! Lovebug has dropped, thrown, stepped on, sat on and pretty much anything you can think of to it, and it looks as new as it did the day it came in the mail. That tells me the standard of quality that ImagiPlay has is great.

ImagiPLAY Toys with Integrity are:

  • award-winning educational toys that are child safe and earth friendly
  • made exclusively with eco-friendly materials, like plantation-grown rubberwood, beechwood from managed forests and bamboo
  • hand-crafted by our partner woodshop, who pay & treat their craftspeople fairly
  • toys that inspire imaginations!

Not only does ImagiPlay offer Bead Mazes, but a ton of other neat toys as well! Food play sets, puzzles, tooth savers, building blocks, even infant friendly toys and so much more! I have a few baby showers coming up and will be keeping ImagiPlay in mind for not only them, but future toys for Lovebug as well! It's so important to me to find quality toys that are safe and durable. I'm happy that I've found it with ImagiPlay!

ImagiPlay has generously offered to give one Moma Lovebug reader the same Palm Bead Maze I received!

Diaper Kit Review and Giveaway! Closed!

"DiaperKit.com is a WAHM (work at home mom) owned business. I have five children, three of whom are old enough to be in homeschool.

I decided to start DiaperKit because I love cloth diapers and love to sew them. I have used cloth on all of our children and twice we have had two in diapers at the same time. I've tried many different patterns and fabrics. Through my sewing experiences I came to realize that I hate cutting out patterns. There is so much tedious work that often leads to a sore back and neck before you can even sit down to sew. Why not have someone else do all of the boring part and I could just sew! So, after much discussion and a lot of preliminary work, I designed my own pattern and moved forward with what has become DiaperKit.com."

As you know, we are a cloth diapering family. Not only does it help the environment, but the savings is a great bonus. The only problem is that some diapers can get a little expensive, especially if you are starting out on a budget. A lot of families have started making their own diapers because of this!

Now, this is a great option. Unless you are unsure with where to start or don't have fabric readily available. I ran into the second problem last fall, and pretty much gave up searching for a nice affordable PUL that I liked.

Then, Amber, of Diaper Kit contacted me last December and gave me the link to her site! I was super excited to see patterns and fabric all in one place! For a beginner level sewer like me, it was nice to have that all in one place. Amber even offered to send me one of Diaper Kit's own pre-sewn diapers to review!

I choose the red, since we didn't have any red diapers, and I could barely wait to get it on Lovebug when it got here! I was a little surprised that the medium looked so big. But once it was on, the fit of the Diaper Kits AIO, combined with the crossover tab, was good! Plus, there is lots of room to grow. We've been super happy with our diaper from Diaper Kits! If I get up the nerve, I may even purchase one to sew myself!

Like I mentioned, Diaper Kits has patterns, sewn diapers, sewn doublers, and so many more things! With the affordable price of everything, I will be keeping Diaper Kits in mind for any future diaper needs!

Diaper Kit has generously offered to give one Moma Lovebug reader a Pattern & Precut Diaper Kit!

Aloha Friday #35

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

Are you planning to do an Easter Basket for your little ones? What types of things are you including?

We do an Easter Basket for Lovebug. Last year I stuck a few things like toys and clothes in it. This year though, I'm stumped! I did pick up some chalk and bubbles, but so far, that's it!

Ideas would be appreciated!

Head over to An Island Life for more Aloha Friday!!

CleanWell Review and Giveaway! Closed!

"Hands down, personal hygiene is top of mind and bacteria is about to face some clean competition. Hand sanitizers and soaps are quickly selling out on shelves nationwide, almost as fast as they are fighting against microbes and bacteria on your skin. On the natural front, CleanWell is the only range of hand sanitizers proven to kill 99.99% of germs without using alcohol, Benzalkonium Chloride, Triclosan or other toxic chemicals.
CleanWell travel friendly hand sanitizing sprays and wipes are made with ingredients from renewable plants, primarily thyme. With a first-of-its-kind natural chemistry, CleanWell proudly introduces a unique formulation of plant essential oils proven to meet FDA standards for 99.99% germ killing efficacy, and a safe and effective natural alternative to the toxic ingredients found in most antibacterial and sanitizing products. CleanWell products also do not include the controversial ingredient, Triclosan, widely used as an antibacterial in household hand sterilization products. Triclosan is a known endocrine disruptor, a synthetic chemical that when absorbed into the body either mimics or blocks hormones and disrupts the body’s normal functions."

I've mentioned before that I'm a germ freak. I wash my hands a lot and am always wiping off Lovebug's. I was sick a lot as a child and teenager, and I hate the thought of Lovebug getting sick like I used to.
I always have a bottle of hand sanitizer on me. And it wasn't until Lovebug was born that I realized how bad some of the chemicals in them really are. I didn't want that stuff to be on my hands if I touched her. But it wasn't always convenient to get to a sink to wash with water and soap.

A quick internet search led me to CleanWell. After checking out their site and seeing that the products are natural and use Thyme as an antiseptic, rather than alcohol, I contacted them. They were sweet enough to send me a couple of their hand sanitizers, which I have been using daily and keep in the car, diaper bag, etc.

  • Kills 99.99% of germs
  • No alcohol
  • Safe for kids
  • Leaves hands sof
  • Cruelty free (not tested on animals)
The above reasons help me to love CleanWell! Two quick sprays is more than enough to cover my hands and keep me germ free. I don't feel bad about using it on Lovebug either! I still prefer soap and water, but if we aren't near it, CleanWell is a great substitute. Plus, their spray gets 4x more uses than a gel sanitizer!

The only thing that took a little time to grow on me was the smell. It's not your normal sanitizer smell. It doesn't smell bad by any means, just different than what I'm used to. In this case though different = better for everyone!

CleanWell is so much more than just Spray Hand Sanitizers. They also sell Hand Sanitizer Wipes and Hand Soap in some really great scents. Everything is very affordable too! I look forward to using CleanWell for a very long time!

CleanWell has generously offered to give FIVE Moma Lovebug readers a travel size CleanWell Hand Sanitizer!

Orglamix Review and Giveaway! Closed!

Let me start off by saying, I hate makeup. I don't know how to do it, nor do I have the time to do it. I usually like the look, but am typically disappointed when I try to replicate it.

What first drew me to Orglamix's etsy shop was their Mom Essentials kit, and that it could be done in 5 minutes or less. While I haven't been able to try this kit out yet, it's on my list for when I have some extra cash! And after being able to try out Orglamix's eye colors, I'm even more excited to try their other products!

What do I like best about Orglamix? I like what it doesn't have.

- Parabens
- Sulfates
- Synthetic Fragrances
- Synthetic Dyes
- Petro-Chemicals
- Phthalates

All of those nasty chemicals that are in a lot of other make ups. Gross, right? It makes my skin crawl to think that's what I was putting on my face before. I prefer healthy looking skin and who knows what other brands will do to your skin after long periods of use. Using Orglamix though, I feel safe about what is going on my skin, and near my daughter's skin.

I first tried Orglamix Eye Color in January, when we were in New York for the Martha Show. Cheri, the creator, was kind enough to send me three beautiful shades. Now, I occasionally have a problem with eye shadows. For whatever reason, they fade and crease really fast. I'm talking minutes, fast. So I planned to test drive it in the hotel room for a little bit before heading out to the show. I figured I'd need to reapply before we left though.

Surprise, surprise! I checked my eye color a few minutes before heading out the door. Not only were there no creases, but the color looked like it was brand spanking new. Not, it's been on for awhile already color. I.was.amazed. This is the first eye color that has ever been so kind to me! And hours later, after the show? No creases at all. Totally awesome.

Orglamix doesn't just have eye color. They also have mineral for your face, cheeks, eco brushes, and starter kits! Like I mentioned, I can't wait to get my hands on the Mom Essentials kit! The brushes that come with it look wonderful!

Aloha Friday #34

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

Has warm weather made it to your house yet?

We got to see the 60's yesterday! Hopefully it won't be short lived. I'm ready for spring!

Head over to An Island Life for more Aloha Friday!!

The swing of things

I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things in the next few days. Following the car accident, we (Lovebug, Hubby, and I) got the flu from being in the ER to get checked out. So I apologize again for such a delay with posts.

I have a few giveaways and winners to post tomorrow, so keep a look out!

Quickie

If you follow me on twitter, you probably know that we were rear-ended on Saturday night, hence the lack of posts. We are all fine, thank goodness. Even the car fared better than I expected.

Today, the flu hit our house. First with Lovebug and then with my Husband. I have not (and will not) gotten it!

I'm going to try to post the winners and giveaways that haven't gone up yet tomorrow. But I just wanted to apologize for my absence.

See you soon!

Good-Bye Internet! (Mabel's Labels- BlogHer post)

Dear Readers,

As you know, the internet will soon be gone, perhaps forever, from electrical storms. I just wanted to take a few moments to tell you how much I’ve truly appreciated you all over the past year.

Blogging has been my outlet. Through my daughter’s birth, her first birthday, and now my health issues. I have always been able to come here, knowing that I could have the ear of my readers for a moment, and have a spot in their thoughts. It has been so wonderful to be apart of your lives and to have you be apart of mine.

Without you, I’m sure I would have gone crazy by now. Being a Mommy is such a wonderful thing. But, a few moments for me each day, to pour my thoughts and words onto my blog, has been almost therapeutic.

What will become of Moma Lovebug? I don’t know. I’ve always dreamed of writing a children’s book. Perhaps I’ll begin to pour my thoughts there. In a few years you may be reading me again- just this time on paper!

Thank you to all of my followers and the wonderful companies I've worked with. Without each and everyone of you, I don't believe I'd be where I am today.

I’ve enjoyed your company and I hope this is only a temporary problem. For now, I’m going to keep living my passion- being a wonderful Mommy to my wonderful daughter. I hope to see you all again soon!

Love to you all,

Jessie

Moma Lovebug

This post was inspired by Mabel's Labels Blogher 10 Contest. The internet isn't actually going anywhere anytime soon (that I know of). But it doesn't change that I think all of my readers are really wonderful. and I'm lucky to have such a great bunch of people as blog followers!

Studio Shihar Review!

"Welcome to the Shihar couture. Designer, Shira tilles Marcus, creates a unique collection of chic versatile woman's separates. The clean architectural lines and geometrical shapes of the garments are inspired by the designer's early training as a sculptor. With a deep understanding of the female form, Shira creates clean contemporary styles that are flattering to a wide range of body types. The Asian influenced designs are occasionally reminiscent of origami with it's angles points corners and multilayered structures. Rich brocades accent soft flowing sensual fabrics, layers drape artfully, revealing and concealing occasionally an unexpected part of the body."

Studio Shihar was generous enough to send me their Snuggle Up Top. I thought this would be perfect for me since I am still breastfeeding my daughter and am always looking for comfy tops that I can still breastfeed in.

As soon as I got the top from Studio Shihar, I put it on right away. It fit will, and looked great! I've worn it many, many times since getting it, and love how soft it is. Even better is that the top is a two in one! If you turn it upside down, it can be used as a shrug. The long ties make a great scarf! I mostly wear it the first way, but it really looks cute either way!

I like that I can sort of dress it up or down. I've worn it around the house, and out with friends, it works everyway! The quality of Studio Shihar is great too! I've washed my top over and over and it's not showing even the smallest amount of wear! Studio Shihar also has a lot of other great looking clothes for men and women! I would love to get the Canvas Jacket for my husband!

Bad things? I honestly can't think of anything bad. Everything from interaction with Studio Shihar, to shipping, to the product has been wonderful! They've even been generous enough to offer free shipping to all of my readers! Just write my blog name "Moma Lovebug" in the notes to seller upon check out!
