I'm hoping to be feeling better by the end of the week, so keep a lookout!

Bummis Review!

"Bummis began as the proverbial “kitchen table business”, started by 3 mothers who were using cloth diapers on their own babies and were inspired to create the products they themselves needed. That was way back in the 1980’s. It remained a home business until it grew too large to fit into any home! Since then, Bummis has grown and prospered while staying true to the vision that inspired its inception and the values that fuelled its growth. We believe that once parents see how easy it is to use cloth diapers, they will use them! So we focus on making it easy – through the products we design and distribute, the washing and using information we disseminate and the customer service we are so passionate about. We also believe that the bottom line is not only about money and profit – but that it is also about the well being of our company and the people who work in it, our suppliers, our clients, and our community - both our local community and our industry. We believe that the way we do business matters, and that business can be an important vehicle for social change. We live on a wonderful little cloth diapering planet here at Bummis that we and our employees have created. We have a lovely factory with lots of plants and natural light, and our offices are situated there as well. We also have two beautiful little stores in the Montreal area where we sell tons of cloth diapers, baby carriers and breastfeeding supplies. In addition we have a warehouse and a small staff in upstate NY, in the very scenic 1000 Islands. We all really enjoy working on our special little planet refuge at Bummis, and we have a great team - all of whom care passionately about what we do and how we do it."Bummis recently sent me the Easy Fit
pocket diaper to review. After working with them during the testing phase of their Training Pants, I knew that they were an amazing company dedicated to great products. We're big fans of pocket diapers here, they're easy enough that my Husband can put them on lovebug, and take them off. If they have velcro and don't require unstuffing, of course. Both are selling features on the Easy fit. The insert is attached, which means you won't lose it in the washer, and makes stuffing quick and easy. The insert is long enough that you can fold it if needed for extra absorbency. The Easy Fit insert is two layers, the top being rayon from bamboo (LOVE bamboo) and microfiber.
We've put the Easy Fit from Bummis to the test. We've used it during the day, in the car, during naps, even over night. We've not had one leak yet! The generous fit keeps everything in and where it should be. Like I mentioned, there is no need to unstuff, so just toss it in the pail. The velcro actually stays on during the wash, too. That chain of diapers that can sometimes happen with others is annoying! The Easy Fit price is comparable to other pocket diapers as well. While I usually don't buy a diaper without a good sale, this is one I'll be on the lookout for! Bummis is more than pocket diapers though, you can find diaper covers, kits and accessories on their site as well! Check them out.
*I received the Bummis Easy Fit free of charge in exchange for this review. The opinions expressed are my own*

Rockin' Green Soap Review and Giveaway!

For quite some time, I'd been wanting to try Rockin' Green Soap. I had heard about it on Twitter, read the reviews, and raves from other people. So, when I finally got the chance, I jumped all over it!
I got to try a couple different scents of the hard rock samples. From the very first wash, I was a Rockin' Green convert. I rocked a soak with the very first wash. I added most of the sample pack to hot water, and let the "clean" diapers soak overnight.
Well, when I went to check
After a few washes with Rockin' Green, the rashes stopped and the ammonia smell is significantly better. While it's not quite gone, it's on the way out! Yay!
So not only does Rockin' Green get the diapers clean while smelling great, it does it without nasty chemicals and dyes. It's biodegradable, earth friendly, and the scents are all natural!
Cloth diapers aren't the only thing you should use Rockin' Green on. Try rocking a soak with your towels, carseat covers, and blankets! You'll be amazed how clean they come out!
Rockin' Green has generously offered to give one Moma Lovebug reader a package of Rockin' Green in their choice of scent/formula!

Skoy Cloth Review and Giveaway!

"Our story is quite simple. We had a desire to share a cloth that is better than any cloth we have ever used and was environmentally friendly. We started to do a little research and were shocked to see how people were cleaning their kitchens. We were even more shocked to find out how many tons of paper towels were being used annually (2.5 million tons) and filling up our landfills. We are two stay-at-home moms living in Encinitas, California. Our children have begun Elementary school and we have a little extra time. We decided that this would be the perfect time to start our business.
We have been working and researching for almost a year on our product. We have such passion for this cloth because we believe that it is the best thing out there.
‘The idea originated when Michelle was living in Europe in the late 90’s. She discovered a product that was similar to the SKOY cloth and it was just amazing. Over time she found the cloth to be indispensible. When she moved back to the US, she realized that the use of a sponge was inadequate and the excessive use of paper towels, wasteful. Michelle searched and searched for a similar cloth and nothing even compared; nothing was of the same caliber. This is when Michelle introduced the cloth to Karen. She immediately fell in love with it and could not imagine cleaning with anything else.’
We then put our heads together and discussed a way to bring this product to the US with the requirement that it meet our high standard. Now we are so excited to be able to offer the SKOY cloth to you—which is everything that we had hoped it would be."
I hate paper towels. I really do.
This hasn't always been the case though. Even though our family only went through about one roll a month, I loved having them on hand. Once I was able to see the waste we were creating, as well as the wonderful cloth alternatives, I changed my tune. What I don't like about most other cloth napkins and towels is the fuzz and lint they can sometimes leave behind. This is especially frustrating when I'm cleaning glass.
Skoy offered to send me and pack of their cloths, and they very quickly became my favorite cleaning cloths! It starts out hard, but run a little water on it, and it softens up and you can use it on whatever! Like I mentioned, glass is something I'm quite picky on. I get the cloth a little damp. Spray the glass with my cleaner, and wipe with the cloth. No lint, no extras, just clean.
I received the pack of Skoy Cloths two months ago, even after daily use they are still holding up just fine! Once they get dirty I just throw them in the wash with our other towels and let them air dry. I have a feeling we'll be using them for awhileThey come in some really cute designs and colors too! Check out their Online Shopping! You can even set it up to have Skoy cloths delivered periodically to your home! While these aren't the cheapest cloths, almost $7 for a four pack, they're definitely worth it!
Skoy has generously offered to give TWO Moma Lovebug readers a pack of Skoy Cloths!

Fresh Baby Review and Giveaway!

"Reminiscent of the movie, “Baby Boom”, starring Diane Keaton, Fresh Baby is the inspiration of two sisters, Joan Ahlers and Cheryl Tallman, who live in rural parts of The United States, thousands of miles apart. In raising their children, they could not identify all-natural alternatives for healthy and hassle-free feeding. Drawing upon their own concerns as parents, the two women began developing products for today's busy parents and caregivers with a product line that includes: homemade baby food kits, baby food cookbooks, baby food and breast milk storage trays, breastfeeding reminders, and child development diaries. Since its inception in October 2002, Fresh Baby has leveraged the ever-increasing consumer interest in natural living and healthy eating to curb the childhood obesity epidemic plaguing the nation. Through the development of products that encourage breastfeeding and developing children's healthy eating habits, Fresh Baby is helping parents proactively respond to this healthcare crisis."Last year, I was lucky enough
to win the Baby Food Kit from Fresh Baby. It came at the perfect time. It was Summer (think farmer's market) and Lovebug was just beginning to try food! The Baby Food Kit made everything so easy. It lists each fruit/vegetable, how to cook it, and ways to combine it with other fruits and veggies that your child may like. The storage trays were great! They're similar to ice cube trays with lids. They hold the perfect serving, so that when you're ready to feed your child, you can pop out one or two cubes and voila! It was easy to throw in the microwave, or put in a container and pop into the diaper bag. By the time lunch (or dinner) came around, Lovebug's meal was defrosted and ready!
So, when Fresh Baby said they were sending their Toddler Cookbook, I was very excited! Somehow, I ended up with a very picky toddler. I felt like we were giving her the same things over and over. No variety in her meals. Which, in my mind, was just making her pickiness worse. The Fresh Baby Toddler Cookbook is 48 pages, that include 35 easy to make recipes! My worry is that they would be crazy recipes with items that aren't usually found in our house. Everything was very easy, with normal and easy to find ingredients! The book starts off with some great tips and information about creating healthy eating habits for your toddler. Also, there are Dos and Don'ts to avoid a food battle as well as a guide to make the most of your child's day!
We're slowly making our way through the Toddler Cookbook. So far, Lovebug has been open to most of the recipes! Like I said, they're easy enough that I don't feel like a short order cook. Most can even be doubled so that our entire family can enjoy them! For recipes like Mango Bagel, Sunshine Wrap, and so much more- Check out Fresh Baby's Toddler Cookbook!
Fresh Baby has generously offered to give one Moma Lovebug reader a So Easy Toddler Cookbook!

ERGObaby Review!

"The ERGObaby Carrier is a great way to carry your baby. Your baby loves to be close to you and to feel your heartbeat and movements. The ERGObaby Carrier’s ergonomic design supports your baby’s natural seated position, eliminating compression of his/her hips and spine. The carefully researched design also supports your posture by distributing your baby’s weight between your shoulders and hips, thus allowing you to comfortably carry your baby for hours at a time. ERGObaby is the ultimate HandsFree baby carrier for all babies, from newborn to toddler, and can be worn in the front, back, or hip positions. ERGObaby is the best way to support your baby and your lifestyle."A few weeks ago, I received the beautiful ERGObaby carrier (Organic Twill Blue Carrier w/Embroidery, Applique - Starburst Lining) with the waist extender (so it could go easily between my Husband and I) to review with my Lovebug. I've been dying to get my hands on an ERGObaby carrier since I was first introduced to babywearing! I'd only heard good things about them, and I knew that at some point, we would need another carrier that could support Lovebug, without hurting my back.
Finding something that
doesn't hurt my back is a pretty big job. I was in a car accident in March. Because of this, I've barely been able to wear Lovebug. So, I was a little nervous the first time I went to put my daughter in the ERGObaby carrier.Guess what?? It didn't hurt my back! Even after wearing her for an hour, my back was just fine. I've gotten so many compliments on the gorgeous print, too! All of the ERGObaby prints are great though. My second favorite is the galaxy print! It even has a matching infant insert for infants under four months!
You still have all the wearing options with the ERGObaby. Front, back, and hip! Nursing in the ERGObaby is a breeze too! Just lower the carrier a little bit and move the baby more to one side, and you're set! The hood works perfectly if you need a little privacy while nursing, or if your little one falls asleep. This is a really great carrier from birth and up. I wish I had it sooner! The cost could be a big deterrent, as the ERGObaby is over $100. However, in my opinion, for a carrier that you can use from birth until well into the toddler years, this is a great buy. It's easy to put on, comfortable, and looks great too!
- With separate Infant Insert, the all-in-one carrier that can be used for all your babywearing years
- Allows parents to maintain closeness with baby while attending to daily activities
- May be worn in front, back and hip positions
- Comfortable for parent; balances baby's weight to parents' hips and shoulders
- Supports correct sitting position for baby's hip, pelvis, and spine growth
- Soft, smooth feel for baby
- Ensured safety and security for baby
- Increased durability and longevity of carrier
- Maximum durability and fit
- Ergonomic design
- Fits most adult body types, from 5' to 6'5"
- Carries babies from infancy (with Infant Insert) to 40lbs.
- Organic cotton - good for baby and good for the earth!
*I received the ERGObaby carrier free of charge in exchange for this review. The opinions expressed are my own*

Simply Neutral Review and Discount!
"Our products are made from natural ingredients. Period. We don't add dyes, fragrances, or synthetic preservatives. Because when you're cleaning your house, the last thing you want to do is replace the dirt with a bunch of toxins or VOCs. VOCS (volatile organic compounds) are carbon compounds that vaporize at room temperature and can be easily breathed in. That's bad news for our bodies. And, it's even worse for people who suffer from asthma, allergies, and multiple chemical sensitivities."I recently had the chance to try out the Value Pack (waterless to save on shipping) from a wonderful company, Simply Neutral. The Value Pack contains Scrub so Fine (a non-abrasive cleaner), Strut Your Shine (an all-purpose cleaner), and Streak No More (a window and glass cleaner).
I want to start out by saying that I love
a clean house. But, I hate cleaning. I hate it with a passion. I have terrible asthma, so normal cleaning products send my body into a fit. I'd tried other well known "green" cleaners, but really didn't feel like it was any better.I didn't know how right I was until Maggie, from Simply Neutral, emailed me the following information:
"When people are using cleaners they think are "green" or safer for their children...they have a right to know if it has synthetic fragrance it has an additional 250 chemicals. A green cleaner can say it uses essential oils but also use synthetic fragrance. If a cleaner is colored, it has dyes added. Dyes are only used for eye appeal. Dyes contribute to surface pollution; kids touch a surface and residue is left behind. Skin is the largest organ of our bodies and we absorb what our skin touches."
Reading about Simply Neutral's company and their products made me feel better about them, even before I had gotten the chance to try it! They do not use fragrance or dyes. Both of which are chemical laden. As I'm looking at the back of their Scrub So Fine product, the ingredient list is simple. I can pronounce everything on there, and I know what each item is and that it is all natural!
Now, I was nervous about how Simply Neutral was going to work. With all of the other products, the nasty chemicals cut the grease, and built up yucky stuff. I'm not going to say it worked like magic. But, it works, and it works well! I was very impressed with the Scrub So Fine. I waited until the day after spaghetti dinner and used it on our stove. Within a minute I had gotten all of the sauce residue off and the stove was shiny again! The Strut Your Shine is probably my favorite, because it's an all purpose cleaner. I've used it almost everywhere you can think. Kitchen, bathroom, laundry room, Lovebug's room, etc! Who needs a dozen and two cleaners when one will work for all of them?
Even better? My peace of mind. I can clean with Lovebug in the same room if I wanted to, rather than sending her to the park with the Husband and feeling like I needed an industrial fan to get rid of the fumes. Simply Neutral smells clean and natural. No harsh smell, my hands aren't dried out either!
I really love Simply Neutral.
They are such a great company! I am in love with their cleaning products, and will continue to use them for as long as I'm cleaning my house! Not only do they have Non-Toxic Cleaners, but Cleaning Supplies, Laundry Soap, and Bar Soaps as well! I can't wait to try the other Simply Neutral products!Check out 101 Uses, to see how you can use Simply Neutral in your home! You can also find Simply Neutral on their website, Facebook, Twitter, and Blog!
From now until June 30th 2010, you can use Coupon Code "30off"for 30% off your Simply Neutral order!

FuzziBunz Review and Giveaway!

"Tereson Dupuy, 40, is the founder and CEO of Mother of Eden and the patent holder of FuzziBunz® pocket diapers. This young mother-of-three invented FuzziBunz® pocket diapers in January 1999 in response to her four-month old son, Eden's, chronic diaper rash."I'm so excited to share with you one of my new favorite cloth diapers, FuzziBunz! Call me crazy, but we are just finally getting around to trying the FuzziBunz One Size Diapers! I wish I would have gotten to try them sooner! They are in my top 5!
As soon as the FuzziBunz One Size Diaper arrived, it went in the wash. I couldn't wait to get the super soft, buttercream colored, diaper on my daughter. It washed easily, so special instructions. And dried quickly (a plus since we are trying to to phase out our prefolds and just don't have enough pockets yet).
I sat down with the FuzziBunz diaper,
and looked at the adjustable leg gussets. They were easy enough to move from size to size. I like this option more than having rows upon rows of snaps on the front of the diaper! The fleece liner is super soft. Even after quite a few washes, the softness is still there. This is one of those diapers that I'm a bit jealous of, hehe.
It fit Lovebug great and the FuzziBunz insert is very absorbent! We don't even need to double stuff for night time. Who wants to remember to do that?
The bad about the diaper? Nothing that I could find! I'm in love!
Not only does FuzziBunz offer One Size Diapers, but they offer Perfect Size Diapers and Cloth Diaper Accessories as well! The Zippered Diaper Totes are a must have for any cloth diapering family that is on the go! We actually have one of these, and I love it! Not only does it hold diapers, but has been known to hold dirty clothes and wet swimsuits too! Be sure to check out FuzziBunz for all of your cloth diapering needs!FuzziBunz has generously offered to give one Moma Lovebug reader a FuzziBunz of their own!

BEARPAW Shoes Review and Giveaway!

I've been in love with BEARPAW shoes for such a long time! I found them last year through Twitter, and wanted a pair of their boots all Winter. I didn't get around to it, unfortunately. But I will this Fall, for sure!
Anyway, the kind people at BEARPAW were sweet enough to send me a pair of their new Ashland Rainboots (in super cute berry)! Spring had just started, and with Spring, comes rain. And lots and lots of it. So, even though I've never been a rainboot person, I was pretty excited to get them!
As luck would have it, Ashland Rainboots arrived
The only issue I've had recently is that on warm rainy days the Ashland Rainboots can get a bit warm (without the wool sock). It's not terrible, but could get uncomfortable after a long time period. This won't keep me from donning them on a rainy day though!

Ecostore USA Review!

"Aren't you tired of the terrible confusion about what is really a green product? With the guidance of our ecostore NZ partners, ecostore USA can answer that question for you. At ecostore USA, we are here to help you make the connection between the household products that you have been using for your entire life and the potentially harmful effects that they may be having on the earth and on your family's health. ecostore USA is here to help you become more informed and offer you authentic, safe alternatives. Would you like to learn about what "Green" really means?"If you haven't picked up on it by now, we are pretty eco-friendly in our household. Most disposable things have been switched to reusable, paper to cloth, etc. Some of the items we had though, like body wash, were not on that list.
Ecostore was kind
enough to let me try a couple of their items. I requested two soaps, the Manuka Honey & Kelp Soap and the Baby Soap. Both were solid bars, rather than a liquid (which you can find here). The promise of natural exfoliation excited me about the first bar of soap. And, the relaxing properties (lavendar) of the Baby Soap really drew me in. I couldn't wait for them to arrive.
When it arrived, I could smells the soaps through the box. It smelled great! I tried the Manuka Honey & Kelp Soap first. It was great. It wasn't too rough, but I could feel it working. My skin felt clean and fresh afterward, and the smell was wonderful! The bar lasted a pretty good while. So, to me- the $4 is more than worth it!
The Baby Soap was up next. I was a little nervous to try this on my sometimes sensitive skinned little girl. Again, the soap smelled wonderful! Lovebug didn't have one problem with it either! We're actually STILL using this bar of soap! I wouldn't hesitate to buy this at all.
I couldn't find any problems with Ecostore at all, I love all of their products and wish I could try each one out! You can find Ecostore on Facebook and Twitter!
